Meet Claudia, our Front Desk Coordinator

When you walk through the doors at Oberalp in Bozen, Claudia is the first person you meet. For over two decades, she’s been the face at the front desk – and so much more. Claudia is a whirlwind of energy, warmth, and joy. Her heartfelt smile greets guests, colleagues, and partners throughout the day – and it's contagious.

For Claudia, her job is not just work – it’s a blessing. “I’m happy to get up every day and come here,” she says. She can’t imagine standing still – movement is like air to her, whether in the office, on her bike, or climbing a via ferrata.

Before joining Oberalp, Claudia worked in hospitality. On the Drei Zinnen mountain hut in the heart of the Dolomites, she juggled 300 meals a day on her own – where others might falter, she truly came alive. Later, she worked in sales and quickly became a star saleswoman with charm and heart. Her clients were always delighted when she visited with her vibrant energy – some even invited her for lunch at their homes. Many of those connections remain friendships to this day.

What defines Claudia? Her openness, her empathy, and the courage to take on any challenge – whether at the front desk or on a mountain. At Oberalp, she had to learn a lot from scratch – but that’s never been a problem. Quite the opposite: she thrives on challenges. She naturally embodies Oberalp’s values: the courage to take risks and positivity that inspires others.

CLAUDIA OBKIRCHER

At the reception, Claudia is the central hub: from handling expense reports and vehicle coordination to running errands – no day is the same. And that’s exactly what she loves. With a keen eye, deep empathy, and a direct, honest way of speaking, she’s there for everyone. She knows people by name, listens, helps out, and gets things done – always with respect and without making distinctions: to Claudia, everyone is equal. And when there’s a fire to put out, she’s the first to roll up her sleeves – even in the warehouse if needed. Claudia isn’t above any task – her hands-on attitude and pragmatic approach make her a reliable pillar far beyond the reception. Patience, however, isn’t her strong suit – she prefers to get things done right away. Standing still simply isn’t in her nature.

One of her daily highlights is greeting the children from the in-house daycare. Every morning, they greet her with a smile – and bring her drawings or little gifts. It’s a ritual that brings her real joy.

Claudia lives what she is: generous, warm-hearted, and deeply empathetic. Her bright blue eyes notice everything – she senses emotions, shares what she has, and offers kindness, a good word, or an infectious laugh. Her positive outlook lifts everyone around her.

Freedom is essential to Claudia. Whether in her beloved white VW van traveling across Europe, on a mountaintop with a view, or exploring a new city – being on the move means feeling free, wide open, and limitless.
Claudia is many things: the face at the front desk, a steady hand in a storm, a lover of life, a heartfelt mother, and a friend with an open ear. And she firmly believes: “Enjoy life – we’re not getting out of here alive,” she says, laughing – and you can’t help but laugh with her.
