Meet Robert our Key Account Manager

On his first day at Oberalp, many thoughts ran through Robert’s mind. “Will I be up to this task?” he asked himself. What began with initial self-doubt soon turned into a perfect combination. Robert quickly demonstrated his strong perseverance, sense of responsibility, and resilience. These skills, combined with his passion for taking on challenges, helped Robert reach his current position as Key Account Manager for Salewa France. In this role, he supports strategic clients in growing commercially and improving their performance. At the same time, this also promotes the growth of the entire Oberalp Group.

What he values most about his role is that there is no typical workday for him. He constantly faces new challenges that force him to reinvent himself regularly. Robert meets these challenges with great professionalism, experience, and adaptability. Nevertheless, he always keeps the bigger picture in mind and regularly takes time to reflect and work on his goals. For example, the relocation of our French subsidiary to Annecy required Robert to question his habits and set new priorities. He is particularly proud that he was able to secure new office space and a new showroom for the entire team.

Robert is especially appreciated by his colleagues for his exemplary approach toward both them and clients or partners. His love for human relationships, alongside his love for his work, is Robert’s greatest personal motivation. He particularly enjoys sharing his knowledge and fostering the development of his colleagues. His friends describe Robert as resilient, honest, loyal, and very family oriented. Starting a family has positively changed him, giving him new structure and perspectives. Robert regards his family’s happiness and well-being as the greatest success.

Robert’s passion for sports has accompanied him throughout his life and has significantly shaped his development. For a long time, he was active as a decathlete. He discovered his love for mountain sports during his time in the military. Even today, Robert fondly recalls this period, which also gave rise to his professional goals: “During my time in the military, I promised myself that I would work in the field of mountain sports. That ultimately led to my role at Oberalp.” This passion for outdoor and mountain sports continues to this day. Robert can be found skiing, on high-altitude tours, or hiking. On occasion, he pushes himself beyond his limits, such as when he crossed the Lyskam-Traverse with acute altitude sickness and two beginner climbers secured behind him on the rope. Another of Robert’s passions is traveling. He particularly enjoys various bikepacking tours, as they combine exploration with physical challenges. In the summer of 2025, Robert set himself a special challenge, cycling entirely alone and self-sufficiently from La Grave over five major Alpine passes to Nice.
